Being 91 days at 18¢ p diem—£6. 16. 6d. Witnesse my hand JOHN FLAMSTEED.’

The whole document is in Flamsteed’s handwriting. The ‘ extraordinary labourer’ afterwards became Master of the Royal School of Mathematics at Christ’s Hospital, and married Flamsteed’s niece.
